Privacy Policy

Article 1 — Personal Information Collected and Purpose of Use

MOODI collects only the minimum personal information necessary to provide the service, and uses it solely within the purposes disclosed here. We collect and use personal information as follows.

MOODI does not collect your precise device location, contacts, payment details or advertising identifiers, and does not use your personal information for advertising profiling.

Article 2 — Retention and Use Period

1. MOODI processes and retains personal information within the retention and use period agreed to at the time of collection.
2. Where MOODI is required to preserve personal information under applicable laws, it retains the minimum basic information for the period prescribed by those laws, and uses it only for the purpose required by law.
3. MOODI's retention periods are as follows.

① Membership registration and management: until the member withdraws. If an investigation or inquiry into a violation of applicable law is in progress, until that investigation or inquiry is concluded.

③ Data kept after withdrawal. When you withdraw, your email address, nickname, country, year of birth, gender, mood preferences, consent records and login tokens are erased. To let you restore your bookmarks and routes if you later sign in again with the same social account, MOODI keeps the social account identifier together with your bookmarks, routes, feed viewing history and recommendation requests. None of this retained data is linked to your name, nickname or email address. If you do not want anything kept for restoration, tell us at moodikr.2026@gmail.com and we will erase the remaining records as well. See the Account Deletion page for details.

④ Website waitlist: until the launch notification has been sent (at most 90 days after launch), or immediately upon request.

Article 3 — Destruction Procedure and Method

1. Procedure and timing: as a rule, MOODI destroys personal information without delay once the purpose of collection and use has been achieved or the retention period agreed to under Article 2 has expired. Information that must be preserved by law is stored separately for the period prescribed by law and then destroyed.
2. Method: MOODI stores all personal information as electronic files, and destroys stored personal information in a manner that prevents recovery or reproduction, in accordance with applicable law.

Article 4 — Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties

As a rule, MOODI does not provide members' personal information to outside parties. The following cases are exceptions.

1. Where the user has consented in advance to disclosure or provision to a third party
2. Where required by law, or where investigative agencies or supervisory authorities request it for investigation purposes in accordance with the procedures and methods prescribed by law
3. Where necessary for statistical compilation, academic research or market research under the Statistics Act and similar laws, provided the information is processed into a form in which specific individuals cannot be identified

Article 5 — Outsourcing of Personal Information Processing

To process personal information smoothly and provide a secure service, MOODI entrusts the following processing tasks to the companies and services below, whose reliability has been verified.

Social sign-in is performed by Apple Inc. or Google LLC, the provider of the account you choose; MOODI receives only your email address and account identifier from them. When calculating travel time and distance between spots on a route, MOODI sends only spot coordinates to Kakao Corp. — no personal information is transferred.

Article 6 — Rights and Obligations of Data Subjects and How to Exercise Them

1. Members may view, correct or delete their personal information at any time under Account and Edit Profile in the service, and may withdraw the consent given at sign-up to the collection, use and provision of personal information at any time by withdrawing from the service. You may also exercise these rights, or request the deletion of uploaded photos and recommendation results, by emailing moodikr.2026@gmail.com. We respond within 7 business days.
2. MOODI acts on a member's exercise of rights concerning personal information without delay.

Article 7 — Installation, Operation and Refusal of Automatic Collection Devices

MOODI installs and operates cookies to provide personalised services. The purpose of cookies and how to refuse them are as follows.

1. A cookie is a very small text file sent by the server operating a website to the user's browser and stored on the user's computer hard disk. It identifies the user's computer but does not personally identify the user.
2. Cookies are used to manage access, provide a per-user environment, understand user activity, and analyse site visit frequency and visit times to improve the service.
3. Users can choose to accept all cookies, be notified when a cookie is set, or refuse all cookies by adjusting their web browser options, for example:
   • Internet Explorer: Tools > Internet Options > Privacy > set the privacy level
   • Chrome: Menu icon (top right) > Settings > Privacy and security > Clear browsing data, or Third-party cookies
4. Refusing cookies may make it difficult to use personalised services.

Article 8 — Measures to Ensure the Security of Personal Information

MOODI takes the following measures to ensure the security of personal information.

1. Managerial measures: establishing and implementing an internal management plan; limiting access to production data to the minimum number of people needed to operate the service.
2. Technical measures: restricting access rights to personal-information processing systems; encrypting all traffic with HTTPS; storing uploaded photos in a private storage bucket that is reachable only through short-lived signed links; issuing short-lived access tokens and deleting refresh tokens on sign-out or withdrawal.

Article 9 — Privacy Officer and Handling Staff

1. MOODI designates the following Privacy Officer to handle complaints and collect opinions from data subjects regarding all processing of personal information that arises from use of the service.

2. MOODI will respond to user grievances promptly and in good faith.

Article 10 — Remedies for Infringement of Rights

Data subjects may apply for dispute resolution or consultation to the Personal Information Infringement Report Center of the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA), the Personal Information Dispute Mediation Committee, and other bodies in order to obtain relief from infringement of personal information. Addendum

This Policy takes effect on September 12, 2026. Any changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date, and material changes will be announced in the app before they take effect.
